Let's Encrypt

In order to take advantage of HTTP2, your site must be secure, which requires an SSL certificate. Normally, those are costly and too complicated for most users, requiring RWH to install the cert to for you.
No longer is the process complicated. RWH now offers Let's Encrypt, providing FREE SSL certificates for personal sites! Business sites still require standard SSL certificates.

Let's Encrypt SSL certificates are valid for 3 months, but worry not, our system will automatically renew your cert(s) at the proper time.

To activate:

Log into your Cpanel account, look under Security, click the Let's Encrypt icon, click issue, check any extra domains you want protected.
If you wish to use mail/pop/smtp under your domain(mail.yourdomain.com), instead of rwh.reliablewebsitehost.com, check the "Install mail SMTPS/POP3S/IMAPS SSL certificate for yourdomain.com"

Wait for the process to finish and that's it! Your site now has an SSL certificate.

Further configuration may be required, depending on what you're running.

For example, Wordpress requires you to enter General Settings and change your URLs to https, in addition to changing the .htaccess file.
Make sure to fully test your site to ensure there are no loops and that no resources are being fetched insecurely via http.
Additionally, install and run a plugin like "Velvet Blues Update URLs" to change you old posts over from http://yoursite.com to https://yoursite.com
Some plugins may also need to be edited, if they reach out to insecure sites.

To force a redirect to HTTPS for your whole site, use this in .htaccess:

RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://yoursite.com/$1 [R,L]
